i want to get more out of my 2.4c @ 3.6 so i decided to get a prommy mach 1. im aiming for at least 3.744 GHz..

now here's my problem..should i get the XMS 4000 and run 5:4 ratio ... at 3.744 GHZ=12x 312 fsb, i will run the xms 4000 at DDR 499 BUT with loose timings of 3-4-4-8

or

get the XMS 3500 and run 3:2 ratio... at 3.744 GHZ=12x 312 fsb, i will run the xms 3500 at DDR 416 with tight timings of 2-3-3-7..

i know i can mod the vdimm but isnt DDR 499 too high for the 3500 at 5:4 ratio..

Experts, GURUS, pls. help me so i can pull the trigger on ordering a pair of 512mb's by Sunday night..

Your gonna need a VDIMM mod either way. You could try to put ~3.25V into Winbond BH-5 memory and hope it gets up there for 5:4, or try Hynix D43 "B" with ~3V and try 3-3-3 timings. Running 3-3-3 timings with 5:4 should net you better performance then running 3:2 with 2-2-2 timings.

3448 timing work for me at 500 with the d43's

I would've help everyone out, but the thing is my mach2 is in the closet and i've been trying to hide it from my girlfriend. Waiting for her to approve that I can buy it and then I'll take it out to play. Been trying to buy her gifts and stuff because her birthday is coming up. Hopefully, I can make her happy and she'll approve. Hhehehe By then, I'll post alot of bench.

the adata vitesta pc4000 seems to like hi voltage and some of the sticks will run over 300 1-1 I have 1 stick of hyperram built for komusa with the adata chips and the that sucker runs 295 at under 2.8v!
