I bought a 1Ghz chip off my bud last night for $90 CAN, LOL 1giger back in my hands again. I couldnt bear the cheap price so I had to snatch.
So far, I have hit 1.68GHz from this 1GHz chip using 2.05V. I'm gonna raise the voltage a tad to 2.2V and try for 1.73GHz later on. I got a waterpump INDA HOUSE MAN!
SO FAR, IT's a 68% Overclock!!!!!
I'll be back

ah, there is a barrier or something in the Athlon core!, I can't get the chip past 12x143 no matter what voltage. I was runnig the cpu as high as 2.5V and still couldnt boot any higher.
So the highest the CPU will go is 1716MHz .
LOL
That's the highest I've ever seen a CPU overclock from stock, (72%)
now my reg for my 1giger,
kt7a-r
1ghz (200) @ 1.71GHz with 2.4V
128MB NEC PC133
60GB Maxtor 7200rpm drive
GeForce 256 64MB
Since I dont want this system as a third, I'm planning to sell it to the highest bidder. Could I sell something like this on E-bay?
youd get,
1GHz T-bird @ 1716MHz on the board
kt7a-r
128MB PC133 NEC Ram
waterpump & all the plates and screws.

A little information about this core,
its an AXIA R2 and its a week 25 model.
It can do 1533MHz (133x11.5) with defualt 1.75v core
It can do 1610MHz (140x11.5) with 1.85v core
It can do 1680MHz (140x12.0) with 2.05v core
And finally 1716MHz (143x12.0) with 2.4v core
It's a little monster you could say, I'm planning to sell it for $200 CAN ($145 US)
From my point of view the chip won't last very long at 2.4v Thats VERY high.

i ran a 1gig AXIA at 2.2v water cooled for 5 months stable as can be (every now and again i get the wild hair and run it at 1.63/2.3v ) - one day it croaked! dead as a friggin doornail. i expect 2.4v is already starting to kill that chip.

oh yeah!
But 1716MHz is worth the dead door nail and for $90 bucks, darnit, I wish I had picked up one of those.
even if that babe lasts only a year, it still worth it!
