simply try to change the multiplier to 5 and if it doent boot up its locked you can find tons of info on the front page on how to unlock it and tips of all kinds. BTW Welcome to the forum youll hav3e that 600 to 900 by notime at all

most duron's are locked so the easiest way to unlock it is to use a lead pencil and cross the L1 bridges

You can attempt to change the multiplier like suggested above, but only if your motherboard supports such a feature (many less expensive socket A boards do not support multiplier manipulation). Otherwise you have to get your chip out and inspect it. Personally, I doubt it's unlocked, I've never seen or heard of a production Duron shipped with the L1's connected.

if your duron is locked i suggest that you use a rear window defoger repair kit to close the L1 bridges, it simply just lasts longer :)
