OK ....heres what i got...i have an AMD 1.2 ghz on an Asus MB. When i first thru it together my temps where running at 40c for the MB and 62c for the cpu which is much to hot i added another case fan with a little duct work aiming at the cpu and i also had another cpu fan laying around so i stacked 2 fans on the HS. Now my temps are 39c for MB and 50c for cpu. And if i run the machine with the case open i drop a couple of degrees on each. Are these temps acceptable?. and what is the best hsf on the market and where can i order one because i want temps to be even lower. And at what temp should i start to worry about burning up?.
Also i use asus probe to monitor my machine as well as MBM5. MBM5 seems to be much more accurate for the cpu temps, but, asus probe constantly pops up to the voltage screen and my voltage in certain areas at certain times shows a drop, sometimes drastically, but only for 3-5 seconds then it goes back to normal. When all this is happening MBM5 does nothing and shows no changes in voltage. What could this be? and is it something to worry about?. Or is asus probe giving false readings?

ok the best heatsink and fan is the thermoengine with a delta 38, or a delta 80 mm fan with a 80mm 2 60mm adapter,+as for ure temps, if ure OS dosent crash, then they are acceptable.check out http://www.pricewatch.com

As long as your system is stable, I'd say you needn't worry about CPU temp. AMD says Athlon TB max temp is 95 C. Though I think your system will hang first before it gets anywhere near that. Even if you run at 60 C, as long as the system is stable, it's fine. So your CPU might last 6 yrs instead of 10 yrs now. Would you still want to run your Athlon 6 yrs from now?

Asus probe program is very inaccurate. Mine varies 10 degrees higher and fluctuates very much. Dont trust it totally.
