What motherboard do you have ? If we know more about your system, we might help you a little more ! you have 2 or 3 choices on how to overclock : 1. changing the Front Side Bus (fsb), 2. changing the clock multiplier, third (donno if it works !) : increasing the vcore.

You should check on the front page of overclockers.com : there are some beginners guides you could consult to know a little more what to do (if you haven't already done so !)
BTW, welcome to the forums !

Well you might have to Unlock your cpu, the L1 bridges to even overclock in the first place. You might need some good ram and a new power supply, post the rest of your setup so we can help. Make sure you have a good cooler for your cpu if not goto www.plycon.com or millisec.com
