Well I'm finally giving in and buying a MMORPG, heh. but Ive found some nice features of this game already. 1 is world passes.. the other are macros. and had a couple questions
Anyone know of a place that describes how to make macros? after much searching all I found was either macros you could download (after paying 20 bucks membership) or people saying "you can use macros" But I want to learn how to make them or whatever.
The other thing is.. my bro and his friends and several of mine play the game, and I want to get on th same server as them...... so anyone got a worldpass # I could have? It would be much appreciated :)
And yes I know they can be got in the game but no one has the gil to spend on it (ive asked) And since some players have given them away, figured I'd ask :)
Now I just gotta finish rebuilding my comp lol.
I thought it only cost about 1000 Gil for a worldpass. Go and fight a bit :)

its 750......but your lucky to get anything from guys... been watching m,y bro and he gets like MAYBE 5-10 gil per guy when you factor in items
just figured someone would be nice and give me one :)
I bought 2 of these games and dont play it at all paid 49.99 and cant return it. I guess I couldnt go through lvling again on another MMORPG. went to a lvl 5 thief and quit but how I got on the same server was I kept on remaking a charater after the 8th try I got 2 of them on the same server (Ragnarok)

Ya I know I can just recreat, just wanted to avoid that if possible, oh well.
I've also heard that it's not really good to be in a party until you've reached level 20 or so. So go beat some monsters, get some items, some exp, and some Gil :)

So the worldpass makes you start over from the beginning?
you cannot move a character to a different server with a world pass. worldpass means you are all guarenteed that server when you start a new character.
if you want i will buy one for you on cerberus. there will be five slots available and they all must be used within 176 hours. let me know if you are interested in cerberus and ill get the pass.
right now though they are taking emigration applications from almost every world i think. this means you can apply to be moved to another world of your choice, preserving your character data and all. so if you and your friends are all on different servers right now, try applying for world emigration to the same world as the others.
as far as learning macros, check the guide at gamefaqs.com (http://gamefaqs.com/)
a few more can be found here (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/guides.html)
plus the game manual has some good info, and there is also macro info in your playonline viewer.

Macro's are straight forward, bring up your menu, goto macros, click on one, edit it to your convenience, exit menu, use it

my server (Garuda) is currently being overpopulated, and theyre giving out server portals (like the reverse of a World Pass) that entitles you to switch servers, WITHOUT LOSING YOUR CHAR! :) im still staying on here, but im just saying. :D

That's pro'lly a pretty rare thing. Can you sit on them for awhile, or do they have to be used right away? If you can sit on them, keep 'em for awhile, and sell 'em later for mucho blingy.

1. I need one for the ?Shiva servr, but I think a friend has one so dont really need it anymore.
2. macros, I know abnout the menu, that much is in the instruction booklet, what I really want is a list of "scriptable" caommands and that kind of thing so I know just what I can do with them.
3. yes there are several "campaigns" for server switching to help balance the load. all of them are going OFF the server Im trying to get on ;)

Is it free to play online or is it only free if you go on like underground unofficial servers.
it costs $13 a month to play. there are no underground servers.

I've had this game since saturday and since then I've logged in an embarrassing amount of hours. I have a few questions though, is there any good ffxi website that would be good for a n00b like me? As far as crafting goes, is it worth it to put effort into it? How do you find out what items you need to craft, is there a good website to read up about all this?
here are some good sites:
FFXIONLINE (http://www.ffxionline.com)
Allakhazam (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/)
FFXI Stratics (http://ffxi.stratics.com/index.php)
each site has forums for crafting and/or links to guides about crafting. including lists of materials and ingredients. also check out the crafting guide at gamefaqs.com (http://www.gamefaqs.com)
personally i am waiting til i hit lvl 30 to do some crafting, it is much easier to get gil then which means you can craft without worrying about money problems. i crafted for a while around lvl 15 but it wasnt really worth my time. so if you are patient, then i suggest just waiting.
not free they charge you like 12.95 plus like 1 dollar for every character

On my server (sylph) whenever we are forming a party it seems to me that there are no white mages around. Is this a common problem that you guys run into on other servers? What does your group do while you are waiting to find a white mage? A few times my party has tried to substitute two red mages for one white mage but that never seems to work as well.
