Ok here's my deal. I can't seem to understand what I'm doing wrong here. I'm running two AthlonXP 2000+ palamino core chips. I know they don't overclock the best. I'm on an MSI k7D Master mobo with one gig of samsung pc2700 ram. Now here's my deal. I can't seam to overclock hardly any. Right now I am running the board at 144mhz, 12x multiplier instead of 12.5 on the chips, and the ram is at the fastest timing they can be set on. Now I am running prime95 to try and find the super high number. I think I'll be done on february the 5th. Anyway I run this program 24/7 and have no problems. However if I bump up the multiplier to 12.5 she shuts down. What am I doing wrong? How much power should I have going to my chips? I have been leaving it on auto figuring the system would pick the right amount. Is that wrong? Do you think I'm starving my boys of power? If anyone else is running a MSI K7D Master board I'd like to hear from you on how you have your chips clocked and what FSB you run your board at. Any of you just pushing 150 through it? Like I said I know that palamino core chips aren't the best. But I figured i'd be able to get them up to around 2ghz a piece or so. I'm watercooled and running just spiffy ;)

Starving. Probably want 1.85v for those CPU's if the cooling is good, not the default 1.75v. That's the only way I ever broke 1600 mhz on the early palominos and 1750mhz on the good ones.

My old 1800+ Pally did 150 FSB 1725Mhz at 1.85V watercooled, and stability was still maginal. So good luck I guess. Both my K7D's do 150FSB. The Bartons at 14x 1.625V the TbredA's at 12x 1.65V with SK7's.

Agreed.

You probably just need more Vcore to overclock those Palominos.
