ok so on friday i move my pc downstairs for a lan. i start up and am getting everything set up.I go and join cs and i realize i have only 40 fps and its very easly droped. i test other games same goes for raven shield and dod. ive checked to make sure they are using the card. io have all teh new updated drivers for games and card i cant figure out whats up with it. if anyone has any idea why my pc cant run tehse games at 100 fps anymore please give me your guesses or solutions.
my system stats are as follows

athlon 2600+
MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR
HD1 -Raptor 10k rpm 8mb buffer 37 gb dedicated for windows
HD2 -maxtor 7k 8mb buffer with the games and programs runing on it
Radeon 9800 np
2 sticks, pc 2700, 512 mb, corsair XMS for a total of 1gb dual channal ram
480 watt antex truepower

Is this a new system? Upgraded the video card? Upgraded everything? Was it working before you moved it downstairs? Did you try reinstalling drivers for video/sound/motherboard? Are you overclocking? Give us some more information. :)

If you dedicated 40gb on on a 37gb raptor, that could be an issue. Hopefully that's a typo! If the problem occurred after you moved it , I'd check all connections and plugs. something could've loosened during transit.

yes that was a typo
i just reinstalled all drivers
and now it hits teh 100 fps but it isnt stable AT ALL ahhhhhhh
there is nothign over clocked
a thought i had while checking connectiongs , could it be power?
i mean i have 4 hard drive(2 are just storage) 2 cd roms 5 fans plus heatsink fan and 3 12" cold cathodes

If you think it's power, try disconnecting some of the crap (ie, extra storage disks, CC lights, a couple of fans...) and see if it improves. Put the video card on its own power connection if possible.

Was this a new video card, or was it working properly before? Did you change *anything* in the system?
