Whenever I try for a FSB near or past 130 on my KT7A-Raid board, windows will not recognize my USB mouse...
Any Ideas ??

Exactly..i have read that when overclocking the USB ports will be the first to give out and that after 146FSB no USB device will work-thats just what i heard but i doubt it? It seems to be a reocurring problem even wildandy c's miracles couldnto make his USB ports to work at over 146. I too have a USB mouse that dont work after overclocking

Whenever you start going into high fsbs, you will need high rated mice to cope with the overclock. All mice run on a 1/12 CPU Ratio so at 100Mhz you are running your mouse at 8.3Mhz. When you take the FSB up to 133Mhz you are pushing it to 11.08Mhz. Thats a whopping 3Mhz increase in mouse frequency. For this kind of overclock you are going to need a special type of mouse. Get a top of the range optical mouse or mouseball equiviliant. I personally recommend the Razor Boomslang 2000+ designed for FSB frequencies upto 180Mhz.
J/K, Im just pulling your leg :) No thats quite easy to fix. KT7/KT7A mobos have USB instability. There is an option in bios that can be set as Normal or Optimal. I dont know what its called but it can cause USB instability.

the mouses cost too much.......come on.....it's like 100$ + just for a mouse that's going to break in less than half a year...(unfortunate for me it will be)
I have run my KT7A-R up to 155fsb and Asus CUSL2-C at 166mhz and never had any usb problems. All my mice are either Microsoft or Logitec and also optical. My other usb devices all work fine to. Could be the particular usb on your mobo not liking a high fsb.
Try a different USB port. For some reason, the one under the PS2 Mouse port has more voltage.

a realy fast fix for this problem is to rais your boards voltage. try 3.7 VI/O

i don't think the usb port is affected by the vio voltage

upping the vio does not fix it....
BTW I have a Microsoft USB mouse.. Not Optical.

same here........microsoft usb intellimouse with the wheel
the mouse screws itself at any speed.....but i have used it for a year already so....
Try using the adapter that should have came with the mouse and plug it into the PS2 port.

I didn't get an adapter, but I do have PS2 mice.
Wouldn't I lose mouse performance if I switch back to PS2 ??

i dun have adapter either.....
and i dun think u will loose mouse performance as u can o/c ps/2 mouse too
Just wondering, what would happen if you get a 266Mhz FSB motherboard???...would the mouse roll over and play dead???...since it can't handle high FSB speeds
