Alright, i go to a site where i buy all my comp stuff from and i notice something new, under the CPU section in teh AMD section there is a category like "AMD Athlon - Socket A (Thunderbird)" and within that category there is "AMD Athlon (T-Bird) 1.0 GHz OEM $155CDN ". Then there is another category like "AMD Athlon CPUs w/ 266MHz FSB" and within that there is "AMD Athlon (T-Bird) 1.0 GHz OEM $142 ". Now i have a question about this...how come the 266FSB cpu athlon t-bird is les smoney than the other t-bird 1ghz? They are they same except in FSB, and why is the higher frequency less money, shouldn't higher frequencies be higher money??? Help with this question...

The answer to that is because of CPU dependancy. It really doesnt matter to the BUS speed, as much as it does how much it is on demand, so obviously the 1GHz 200s are been ordered more!

So it really doesn't matter right? I can still get the 266FSB one and get the same quality right? Why dont people just buy the 266FSB one in teh first place? Its cheaper?

How many 266FSB 1 giggers have hit over 1.5ghz? Well for what I have seen not many. When I bought mine they were the ******* child of the line, but as you can see by the demand, they are the better chip for O/Cin'. Just my 2 cents.

Ya, but i used to have a 266FSB 1ghz t-bird, and i got that at 1.4ghz which was just fine...So are you sure its just the demand?

The older chips tend to O/C better, it is getting harder and harder to get an AVIA-Y and AXIA-Y or K these days. Yes there is a demand for these paticular chips. Just read the posts. GOOD O/C though, 40% is not bad at all!!
