how do i stop it from searching msn when i type something into ie address bar?

when i type a website url without the http://www. it searches for the thing on msn.com...i know there is a way to change this, i think it got messed up when i got some bad spyware on my com and had to get rid of it...

if you want to use google as a main search engine, all you need to do is download google and go to google option and select "use goole as default....."

is there a way to set it so there is no default search engine? just go to the error thing? like if i type ssfda it searches in msn, cant i just make it come up with the page not found error?

Are you talking about just changing the
tools\internet options\advanced\ search from the address bar when searching

then select the button that says " do not search from the address bar"

you could just hit CTRL+ENTER instead of just ENTER
