Wow........

Just just this puppy to 1.4Ghz with a decent temp reading on mbm. 32C on idle :-)

What is strange is that the temp fell by 10C just by replacing my Soundblaster !Live with a Game TheaterXP. It can't be air flow because the card is the same size and in the same slot as my old soundcard.

WHY? It doesn't make any sense. I knew I was suffering from the !live causing crashes but a 10c drop??????????

Me thinks my old card was holding me back on the fsb too - am going try to go higher now with my KT7A-R board. - I'm at 140 at the mo.

Me is a happy bunny - replacing the ****ty sb!Live has given my system stability + it's easier to o/c + the cpu is cooler at 1.4 compared to unoverclocked normal voltage system :-)

+ I've now got real optical out going into my Sony dts setup - sweet :-)

Those are some interesting revelations.... I would never think that a sound card would affect things that much.

Now if someone could just fix my PCI divisor problem on my KT7A-Raid.... (stuck at /3)

SickBoy, what makes you think your PCI divisor is 1/3? I used to think the same as you, but I was trusting Sandra2001's reading. Actually, Sandra is wrong. Your PCI speed on the KT7A/KT7A-R is whatever you choose it in the BIOS (i.e. 133/33, 140/34, etc...) 133 and 140 are the FSB and 33 and 34 are the PCI speed, and I think it figures out the AGP speed with relative to PCI.
