so where do they put them? cuz i need to get one of the network adapter drivers off of 2k and bring it to an xp system but cant figure out where it puts them

the easiest way to do this is to download a driver for your network adapter and install it in winxp environment.

if you want to copy thing, you need to look for a inf file for your network adapter because this file will show where the files are copied to

%SystemRoot%/inf
%SystemRoot%/system32/drivers
2k and XP drivers aren't always interchangeable

hmmm... it would seem to me that the drivers for 2k would already be included with xp and the add hardware wizard would find them. is that not the case?

i have a friend and when he goes into add network adapter the only manufacturers that show up is Microsoft but on my 2k machine ( he has XP) it lists a whole lot of them
