As the title suggests, Am I the only person who can't get their 1.2 TBird up to and past 1.4?? The L1 Bridges are unlocked, but I just can't get past 1365 at all???!! The FSB goes up and the whole system locks up. There is no way I can get the FSB to run at 10.5 x 33 or anythig else.

Help?1

The KT7 is based on VIA KT133 chipset, which rarely runs faster then 110 FSB. It's not uncommon for a KT133 to not run higher then 102. Go get a mobo based on KT133A chipset. Like the KT7A.

You're not alone. My 1.2 will only hit 1.33 and that's with 1.85 VCore. I'm thinking about getting a 1.4 AYHJA Y.. a friend of mine buys them wholesale I think so I'm trying to get in touch with him. I've only had my 1.2 for a month so if I can't get the AHYJA Y for less them $140 from my friend I guess 1.33 is good enough for now.

I can only get 1350 MHz from my 1.2 T-bird. I'm at 150 x 9. It doesn't matter what combination of FSB or multiplier I use, I can't get past 1350.

well its looks like you guys are just hitting the limits of your chips-most of them will run higher but still there is no gaurentee that a 1.2 will do over 1.2-dont be upset if they dont OC very high--but that still does suck

exactly the same bud but I am determined to get past that 1.4 mark so lets see who can do it and post first. I have had mine at 1.38 but no further. btw I have had more sucess if the system has been up and running for a few hours?:D

What voltage are you using. Without doing a voltage mod and getting water cooling I would suggest getting a better cooler, Golden Gate maybe, and max out the voltage if it isnt already.

You might try researching something called PCI Latency which is a big problem for motherboards and high-end kt7's and kt7a's. It's a small patch you apply and helped me get my 1.2/200 tbird past 1.4 and into 1.5. Of course then I blew the whole thing up so it doesn't matter now, but it was fun while it lasted. Check viahardware.com for more info.

I am in the same boat as you guys i can only get 1370 mhz out of my 1.2 B chip.
Can you shed a little more light on this pci latency patch i tried looking a via hardware and could not find anything on it.

If you are using your FSB to do your clocking, possibly try lowering the cas on your memory too. When I go 1500+ by the FSB I need to set it to cas3 to keep it stable. I like my crucial memory, but I think I'm gonna look for some pc150 so I can keep it at cas2. I can do 150*10 at cas2 ok, so my memory isnt too far off, but at 158mhz it gets iffy. I think if I can get some pc150 I'll be able to get this up near 1.6 and actually have to start looking into a pelt.

With a 250 watt PSU and generic ram my machine would not post at 1.4 no matter how I set it. IMO memory is about 75% of how far you can overclock a system. Then keeping it cool is the factor afterwards.

my 1ghztbird(266fsb) is overclockeable up to 1442 air cooled. i think i was lucky. . .i can tell you this the next proc i get is also coming from memman.com! my friends tbird cant get past 1200 or so. . .hehehe,

My 1.2 gig will run as high as 1460mhz with right combination of multiplier and FSB. But anything higher it wont boot. Anything close to 1500mhz the system wont even post. But I'm stuck at 1.3 for now cause of heat. I need a new cooler or waterblock. have'nt decided what to get yet. Don't really have the money right now anyway. Got to go school shopping for my daughter next week. So that will eat up a nice chunk of cash.
