Given some of the controversial postings here about "excessive" results in overclocking and providing "proof" of such, anyone using the technique decribed in the following article could give you what is commonly accepted as "proof" of overclocking....

I have been aware of this information for a while and created a fake benchmark with this on the following post

http://forums.overclockers.ws/forums/UltraBoard.cgi?action=Read&BID=2&TID=27006&P=2&SID=131036#ID52

However it does not work on all benchmarks the 3D mark 2001 does not produce benchmarks using this technique. It is also exceptionally easy to detect fakes from the memory benchmarks. The reason for the high memory benchmark scores with the cheat program is that it slows down the ref. Clock. When the ref. Clock is lowered all benchmark programs think you are running at higher MHz and that you are processing faster and you get higher scores. This is because it looks like your system is doing more calculations/operations per second but that's just because the "second" is a greater period of time than a second when using the cheat. The results obtained in this benchmark will not be anything close to the linear Increases displayed
