Im considering getting 2 x 36.7GB WD SATA raptors in raid0 and having it as drive "C". At the same time I would like to have a 80GB WD 8MB 7200 on IDE as drive "E" or "F" or whatever. I only wish to use the 80GB IDE for storge of misc files.

Currently I am running:
WinXP Pro
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe Rev 2.0 (Has 2 on-board sata ports)
80GB WD 8MB 7200RPM

What I would like to see:
2 x 36.7GB WD Raptors as drive C:
80GB WD 8MB 7200RPM as drive E: F: or any other letter

What im trying to say is I want the 80GB to be used like a giant floppy drive only MUCH faster and MUCH larger. Windows will not touch this drive unless I drag and drop or copy any files onto this hard drive.

-Can I do this?
-Will it affect overall performance? If so how should it be set up?

If your motherboard gives you the ability to connect these disks ofcourse you can do it.
Just create your raidarray with those two raptors to make one big pratition and plug in your 80GB IDE disk.
When installing windows just chose to make a partition on your unformated space of your two raptors. It's very simple.
