View Full Version : SATA Prob. HELP....

Hey guys i just baught a seagate 120g SATA HD and it doesnt work on my system. I'm running two WD IDE drives one of which is my primary. I updated the Mobo bios, installed drivers... and nothing. Windows detects the HD in device manager but it doesn't show up in "My Computer" nuthin there... lol windows says it's operatin fine but it's not workin... help plz i need it to back up some stuff ASAP... plz help

you need to format it for windows to see it.
use a boot disk to go into dos and fdisk it.

or look on the seagate site for a program that will do it also.
shouldnt be nothing really wrong in my eyes so dont worry yet to much.

yeh if ya have probs ill be around most the night and so will about 500 other geeks who live in thier pc's also. lol

Ok guys well i've got win xp.... and it doesn't let me format the drive in dos mode cuz there's no fdisk.... my Sata HD id detected in the device manager even shows me it's size... in properties it says....

disk: Disk 2
Type: Basic
Status: Online
Partition style: Master boot record
Capacity: 114471
Unallocated space: 114471
Reserved space: 0

In the volume section there's nothing.... how do i creatre a volume???? help plz... everything seems ok but XP doesn't show the drive in My Computer... i'm sooo lost

Ok guys i figured it out... i fust had to go int ad. tools and mess with it ... thx 4 all the help N E Wayz.

ive never used Admin Tools before, so i didnt know about it.
