okay, I know some stuff about overclocking, I got bored a few days ago so i decided to try to overclock my p3 700E. I have a p3 700e ,256megs pc100 ram, annhilator2 video card, abit bh6 mobo (its old i know this system been rebuilt many a times), and a couple maxtor harddrives( I mention this becuz previous posts say they are culprits). I know the RAM is junky that its not pc133 and it doesnt like using higher then 100 fsb, but hey I got money to waste, whats not to lose. So, i decide to Overclock my pc right up to 133fsb see what happens, voila, worked right off the bat to 933mhz. I was surprised so i threw up some stability tests, left it on all nite running them, woke up in morning to find my pc still fine and dandy. Decided to test temperature on the processor, and saw that motherboard monitor said my case was at 78 F but my processor was at 134 F, YIKES! Shocked, I opened my case felt my heatsink to find it not hot at all, decided to downclock it back to 100fsb to see if the temperature would go down(never having used this program b4 either). I took my pc, put a fan on it, and put it on power saver mode for 2 days, to come back to it saying my cas was at 65 F but my processor was still at 134, I figured, hell this is br0ked. So, I reoced it to have it work just fine for a day til after about 5 hours of Half-Life, it locked up on me, I decided to up the voltage, but thats when everything started going screwy, didnt seem to want to boot right. So i just decided to downclock it to 124fsb where it is right now as im typign this 2 days up at default voltage of 1.70 and never had a glitch yet. Anybody know what could be going on, oh btw my ram is at 3-3-3.
