View Full Version : [SOLVED] P3 800E 100Mhz Secc2
Is the Slot1 chip better in any way than the 800 flip chip for being cooled due to its package? Do retail chips stand a better chance of greater overclocking speeds than OEM versions? Boxed 800E's have the code BX80526H00256E on them, some other P3 E's have a "U" instead of the "H" in the code, does this mean anything? I dont want a Costa Rica manufactured chip, is it pot luck where the chip u end up with comes from?

In my experience, OEM chips have OC'd just as well as retail. The retail chips have the advantage of Intel support though. If it doesn't OC you may be able to get Intel to send you another if you tell them it didn't want to work on your MB. Just don't EVER tell them you were overclocking it, or they won't even talk to you any longer.
