I need help with overclocking my PIII 450. I'm getting a new case and everything i only have 64mb of ram. I don't even know my motherboard make, but i have an intel 440BX chipset which should be helpfull. I have seen the best results for this processor at this speed. PLZ help! Thanx! BTW, Happy New Year!
Without a few particulars about your system about all I can recommend is going to the newbie section on the opening page, and digest as much of it as possible. It will show you what you NEED to know about your system to overclock it, and to request assistance.
I wanted to raise the FSB on my 450 but dont know how could some one help explain to me how to find it, and raise it...what it looks like.

you probably cant short of getting one of the software fsb adjusters to work which i haven't ever heard of anyone doing.. my guess is that you have a name brand P3 *eg gateway or dell* which uses proprietary motherboards that dont have overclocking ability usually.. if either of you actually have a useable motherboard it can be explained by the front page as tim mentioned
For software FSB adjusters, lookup CPUFSB or SoftFSB...CPUFSB is the best though...Also read the help file that they come with, otherwise if you just dive right in and start adjusting stuff....You willl end up locking your system.
This thread is originally from 2-1/2 years ago. Tim answered my first post too and suggested I had a cooling problem (which it turns out that I did).
Whoa......
Didnt notice that.....sometimes these forums freak me out.....
