I just got my 700 and oced it 933. Everything is stable and cool (35 C idle). I decided to see what my fps gain in q3a would be at the new speed. It turned out to be the same as the cpu at 700 (54fps). System specs:

P3 700 FCPGA cB0 step
Alpha HSF
Gigabyte GA-6R7+ slotket
Abit BE6 v1 (latest BIOS)
256MB PC 133 Corsair RAM
Hercules GF2 MX

I was thinking that the slotket is not playing nice because I expected about 10+ fps increase. Any insight?

Tends to make one think that the bottleneck is not the cpu. I can't see the slotket being responsible- the video card would be the likely culprit I would think.

Well, I think you may be right. Before the 700, I had a p3 450 oced to 600 and I got about the same fps. I just can't believe that it doesn't use more CPU!

Yes, the vid card is probably the bottleneck.
GeForce & GF2 have a 128 bit data path to vid memory.
GF2 MX has a 64 bit data path!
