Elllo All,

Well I've upgraded my pc with a new MB and processor (not in sig yet) and done so successfully. I've got everything going with my previous install of Win2k but it pauses at the shutdown point and I've managed to delete some cookie or something so my school's outlook inbox won't load. Essentially, I want to reformat and reinstall.

1 Problem, my floppy drive crapped out and I'm running Raid0 off of a PCI Raid controller. I have the drivers on CD but how exactly do I go about getting Win2k to read the drivers from there since it is hell bent on reading from my nonexistent floppy drive. If this can be pulled off, oh goody cuz I hate floppys and their crap and my thumb drive has nixed their necessity except for this. Thanks to all you OS pros out there, I greatly appreciate it.

I'd be happy to be proven wrong. But to the best of my knowledge, there is no other way to load RAID drivers with MS operating systems.

With any luck, they will fix that with the next version of Windows.

There is one way to load RAID Drivers and SP1 in to an XP install. Slipstream both on to a XP CD Drivers (http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8892&highlight=slipstream)
SP1 (http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?object=article.cfm&id=160)

nicspits, I was just recently going thru the exact same dilemna as you. my floppy messed up on me a while ago so i just trashed it and decided to never use them again. floppies should have ceased existing a LONG time ago, so I do not wish to contribute to their usage. anyway, there are a couple of ways that you can go about to get this done but all methods lead to approx. the same result. Ill give u a link to the forum where peeps helped me out, it should help you out too:

Heres another good thread:

Look around and find out the best way that actually works.
It took me about 3 attempts in putting together my own custom Win XP pro disk and 3 coasters before I got it to work. I dont remember the whole thing off the top of my head, but the method that worked for me was considered to be the 'long' method. Its a little more demanding as to how much you need to do and modify, however it works like a charm. Hope this works. If you need some more help pm me cuz i remember some of the steps were all to straightforward.

I actually ended up stumbling upon that last night on google and tried it. Funny, I just got my comp back up and everything installed :) Thanks a lot for the help though, i'll be sure to keep these texts in a document for future reference.
