Hi all,

I have a question I hope someone will answer. Will my motherboard (Gigabyte GA-6ZMM) support a celeron 600 cpu with the Slot 1 to socket 370 adapter ? My user manual says it supports a P3 600 but doesn't say anything about the celeron. And if it will can I overclock it ?

Thanks in advance

Matt

Yeah, a 600 could be used with this board (regardless of wether it's a rev 1.2 or 1.4). As toward it's overclockability - try this document here for any hints http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/support/user_pdf/6zmm_14_2_may1799_m.pdf

Other than that I would state that provided that the correct and required voltage was supplied, cooling was sufficient and the Gigabyte board could supply a forced 100Mhz Bus, you should be in luck.

The limitations will be as follows :-

Gigabyte boards are generally quite unstable.

The ZX chipset is pathetic when placed next to it's big brother the BX. The BX overclocks nicely, the ZX nows that it's doing something naughty and cries.
