Hi folks, I bought a used Pentium II 300 MHz CPU w/512 KB L2 Cache for about 5 dollars and it works great except it doesnt have a heatsink or fan on it. I've done some searching here on this forum and the main site but I'm not sure if I need to buy a heatsink/fan designed for SECC1, SECC2, or whatever. How can I tell?

If someone has a link or some info about this and where I can buy it, that'd help a lot.

Thx

it should be SECC 1, there are only a few stepings
of PII 400 and 450 that use SECC 2.

I recomend a Thermaltake "golden orb" for a PII they make them for both P2's and P3's the one u want is for a P2, and I have one, and they fit very snug..be sure to use a thin layer of thermal grease, and what ever u do, don't run it without a heatsink! I am surprised it booted at all

You can pick up an HS/Dual fan for about $13. My PII 300 runs way cool with a generic HS/Fan combo that I bought for $12 at a brick and mortar store.
