New Cel II 566 FC unstable at default.

I am upgrading my Cel 300a to a 566 FC, but I had to go back to my 300a because I keep getting blue screen "Fatal exception errors " in Windows, anyone know why this may be happening ? Did a defrag last night. Still happening.

Your problem is the drivers for the Sound Blaster card. go to their website, and grab the new driver, problem will probly go away.

What revision is your BH6?

What kind of cooling are you using?

also take the Live out and see if that solves anything first.

My BH6 is ver 1.0, I'm sure my cooling is sufficient with a golden orb & the best paste, arctic silver. The thing I need to figure out what is the difference between running my 300a and my 566. hmmm.

right click and "Save Target As" on this link here http://www.cotty.btinternet.co.uk/sblive.reg and once downloaded, double click it, agree to update the registry and then restart windows - voila, problem solved.

Thanks Wild andy I will try it. Why do you think that I need to do this with the 566 and all is OK when I run my 300a ?

Also, on my BH6, I can't find any version #, I looked on the slots and see BH6, nothing else. I assume it's a ver 1.0
The manual says the same.
Regardless I ran the KG bios for 2 years 'til I went to the SS. All is smooth with my Cel 300a. stumped.

An updated driver for my soundblaster Live. Who would have thought.
& I mean that, who would have thought of this ? But it worked. All is fine now with my Cel II 566 FC. I even cranked it up to 707 mhz. May try 850 later
