View Full Version : what does CAS 3-3-3, mean and do ??
Sorry to seem thick but does anyone know what cas 3-3-3 does and how it helps o c ?
thanks craig
It is the memory latency setting. The simple explanation is that the different settings determine how long the cpu will wait for the data to settle in the memory between accesses. Smaller numbers meaner shorter delays, and therefore faster memory access and higher throughput.

So what Tim is trying to say, is you want cas 2, or cas 2-2-2..and the term "cas" reffers to "collom address strobe" and "ras" reffers to "row address strobe"....and like tim said, the shorter delay, the better.
