ok... I was forced to take manual voltage adjustment option. and this i was given two options. 1.65v and 1.9v I used 1.9v first, just b/c i'm an idiot and it boots into 900mhz *hoorah* although it won't make it past a couple of seconds booting. (blue screens in both win2k and winme) checked the temp in the bios and it was 40celsius. i figure once it starts booting, the golden orb just can't handle it.
so i dropped the voltage to 1.65 and now i can't even boot to 100mhz. though it seems to be running nicely at 750mhz. can anyone help?

Get a copy of SoftFSB and see if it will let you go that high on the fly. CPU's get hot during boot and have problems getting into Windows. If it will run with the on the fly technique you need more cooling. Actually with an orb, many people have found they aren't exactly optimum, and if you got to 40c in a normal boot, it sounds like it's not working very well. Are you using thermal compound?
