View Full Version : Can a P3 with Katmai core reach 800Mhz from 500Mhz ?

Hi all my problem is that i have a p3 katmai core normally runinng at 500 Mhz i clocked it at 600Mhz and it goes ok but i want to push it more....what can i do ?

i have one that goes to 672 but thats alot for the cache that was only rated for 300mhz - 1/2 core speed. those chips were never meant to be ran faster than 600 but 666 is possible try 133x5 @ 2.2v

I'm running p3 500 at 620 and seems stable now .. temp at 33 without extra cooler .. mopbo is aopen ax6bc pro

The most I ever got out of my 500 Katmai was also 620MHz. Just like the Athlons, I bet a good portion of these have faster cache than the rest. If you can get 800mhz out of a 500 Katmai, bless your hands!
