I have only 1 cdburner/cdrom. So i can't make what i think is known as a 1:1 copy where u have a cdrom drive and a seperate cdburner drive. I need to know what to do. the copy protection for COD is safedisc 3.10.020 and is .exe protected. I need a really retarded person's guide on how to make a physcial duplicate b/c i am going to a LAN par-tey and u know how some things come up "MISSING" @ LAN parties and that suspicious looking character in the corner said he was "OUTSIDE" from whenever to whenever. I dunno, but i think i need to copy the .ISO image from my cdburner/cdrom to a path on the HDD. Then use nero to burn the HDD .ISO image to a blank cd and BAM i did it. It's juss i need a step-by-step walkthru. thanks in advance!
I really dont think that you are going to get a real response about this subject from these forums. This is too close to a warez subject which is prohibited on these forums. Try www.gamecopyworld.com and see if they have what you are looking for.

There is also a lot of info here. It is actually pretty easy if you have the right burner and program.
i dont make backups of my games, so this might or might not work because i dont know if it will work with the protection. get something like winISO (www.winiso.com) and use it to make an iso of the COD cds, then burn the iso's on to the backup cds.

Nope, that won't do it. You need to get past the protection.

Sorry, but the forums have always been clean and not tolerant of warez.
I know what you're asking is "legal," but according to the DMCA breaking copyright protection is illigal. That is not right in my opinion, but that is the current law. As such, these forums are liable for any information posted here, specifically illigal information.
I want to help you, but I can't post that information here....maybe if the mods come by and approve this thread, I can try to help you....but this thread is on very thin ice right now, unfortunately.

wait....
I just noticed the same thread posted in GCRD that Thelemac closed....he mentioned nothing of breaking rules, just to post it in the proper forum...I guess that means it's ok, ehhh....
Anyhow, try a program called ClonyXXL. It's a german program that will make an ISO of a copy protected CD which will allow you to burn it. I dunno if it's up-to-date, but it's worth a try. Just google for it, you should be able to find it. You should use that program in conjunction with CloneCD. Once you make the ISO with ClonyXXL, a new option will appear under CloneCD called "Burn copy protected disc." That seems to be your best bet. I've never used it myself, but my brother and my roommate have, and it worked for them. You can just google for CloneCD as well.

How do you use ClonyXXL? It's in a different language!

I believe (from what I remember last time I used it) there's a little pull down menu or something that shows the British flag or something...click that and it'll be in English.

what hes doing is actually completely legal. You re allowed to make backups of your own cds, so long as you dont redistribute them to others.
Most often, you can use a program like nero or isobuster to make an image of the cd on your hard drive, and get around the protection that way. You can also try http://gamecopyworld.com to find some tools for backing up/getting around your cd.
but just to reiterate. Illegal copying of games means that you re copying games to distribute amongst other people, who have not paid for a copy of the game. That would be denying the game's creators of the income they would have recieved for the long hours they put into the game, and is illegal. Copying a game for your own use (ie, using the copy to protect the original from scratches/damage), is completely legal as you are not violating any copyright laws.
or at least thats the way it is up here in Canada :D
im almost positive the same rules apply to all you other people tho
