Wire harnesses for splitting a psu?

Are their any premade wire harnesses that you can plug into the motherboard connector on a psu that splits it to run two boards? I read the how-to but it would be alot easier if there were premade deals that would do the same thing.

I have been planning on making some of these to sell on here as it's better to do it this way then killing a new PSU by cutting up it's wires right off the bat. I don't have my fortron running 2 boards yet for this reason. Once I have the splitters ready, I'll post about them.

When I built my farm a few months back, the answer was "no". I bought 9" extensions and used twist on caps to connect the wires. I have heard that the vampire connectors work real well though.

If I were to do it over, I'd use the vampire connectors.

That's how my first PSU I split looked and then it dies on me after less than 12 hours so I don't want to have to deal with that crap again so I am going to make it nice and easy to split some PSU's.

If that will work, would a fortron 350w be enough to run 2 boards both running XP2400+ cpu's doing nothing but folding? It's doubtful they would be overclocked but should I choose to, would the 350w be enough to handle a mild overclock on both cpu's?

I just read the duallie (SMP) guide for AMD, and it recommends 500W and above PSU for stable power .. having said that, 350W to run 2x2Ghz (2400+) seems kinda close to the edge .. I will have exact same PSU coming my way .. so if this works fine on your farm, let me know and I'll do the same :D

There are some One-Two ATX adapters here* (http://www.ateck.com/viewCategory.asp?idCategory=191) I believe.

Yes you should probably use more than 350, 400 at least. I have a dual 2100 and it uses somewhere between 200-300 wats. I think it may sometimes push over 300.

That's a good find! I think 6 inches is too short for my setup so I still have to make some for mine, did I mention I am sleeving my wires too... :p

I think that would work great... and I'm thinking about buying four of those for my farm. If it's too short, use an extension for one side.

Anyway, don't get crazy about the PSU. I have four 300W psu's that cost $18. They work fine and have worked fine since I finished my farm. Realize that the AMD specs are going to fall far north of the "safe-side" to ensure their cpu gets enough power. Furthermore, they are assuming you are going to run numerous peripherals (video card, sound card, CDROM, CDRW, DVD, NIC, USB stuff etc etc etc) when all you'll have is mobo, cpu, hd, ram (assuming your mobo has onboard vid/nic).

I've got a spare 300w here I think and a friend is sending me a 400w and a 550w so I think I'll be in good shape for a while :)
