How can I tell what kind of cpu I have?

I was given an used PIII 500 mhz processor and the main board. I am not real savey on reading the serial # and figuring out what I have. It came with no documentation.

The number on the processor is
500/512/100/2.0V S1
99071035-0215 MALAY
98 SL3CD

Without looking up the S code to be precise- my guess is that it's the Katmai core since it has 512k of L2 cache, and 2.ov Vcore. Not known to be overwhelming overclockers because the cache usually runs out of steam pretty fast.
