I haven't heard much about the VH6. I know a guy that has one but he isn't overclocking. I've messed with it alittle, got his 800eb up to 900 but didn't run any tests on it, I turned it right back. It seems to have a good number of options, but I wouldn't say it had an awesome number...but you already know this.
If you can get it going at the speed you want that alpha you have will really help out a lot. That pc100 Ram might hld you back but you'd have to be really screaming along to do that. I'd give it a shot with that setup, unless you haven't really bought all that yet and you are only in the planning stage. Then I might change the MB. It seems to me a nice rig....crank it up man see what happens...thats what its all about!!!

I have built several of these machines for workstations at my employers. The 566/VH6 combo has never failed to hit 850MHz, and a couple have made it near 900MHz. These machines don't have a LOT of case cooling or big hsf's so they might do a little better with some extra goodies. You can run the ram at FSB+PCI (133MHz) and it runs about like a BX board. Of course that takes PC133 RAM... Your Micron might make 133- you never know for sure without testing it.
