Try booting at 900, or even less.
You didn't give us much to go on..like system spec's..a little more info might help

What Vcore setting are you using? What Vcore settings are offered on that MB? My PIII-700's like around 1.85v to go above 900MHz.
the highest Vcore I tried yesterday was like 1.85, I got it to boot up @ 933 but it locked before getting into windows. Plus my motherboard (Abit VT6X4)is being a pain in the rear. It doesn't want to cooperate. It doesn't like to change FSB to a lower setting, it takes like 5 reboots to get it to take the change. Any ideas why that is?? I'm using stock hs+fan right now, just waiting for my 3 to 4 pin adapter to come in so I can use my PEP66 w/38cfm fan. I might try to lap one of the Intel heatsinks and use one of my 60mm fans on it for the time being. Any help would be appreciated!!
I think The Intel retail heatsink would do it, those things are crap and are of course made not to run the chip above stock speed...by the way what stepping is this CPU?

You Really need some better cooling,Stock heatsinks SUX!I think its time to get into active cooling Im in the prosess of building a watercooling set up,and I cant wait till my buddy taps my home made water block,You should look into atleast a Pelitier system
Active cooling can be done pretty cheap,Example
Water bolck--Free made it myself outta scrap
Pump--$30 Fish pump 300gph
Tube--$5 autoZone
Radiator--$14 AutoZone heater core
Pelitier $32 from http://www.peltec.f2s.com/
Water tank--$9 From home depot
So As you can see for a Whopping $90 you set for some safe SERIOUS Overclocking
Or you can buy one of those prebuilt kits for about $200..................
But Seriously I think your prolb is the heat
I got a water block made at the machine shop by a friend, but my other friend hasn't welded the top on it. Its made from aircraft grade aluminum(I'm in the sorry ass military)As for the stepping it is cBo (sl45y). I want to make a petier setup but I just aint got the money right now. Gotta slip it by the wife ya know!!!

I have My PIII 700e (cBO)(SL3XM) At 875 with a home made Back yard,Dosent even belong in the Garage type Pelitier(It amazes me it even works)*LOL* and at idel im at 15c under load(prime95) it gets to 46 for a pelitier,,those temps suck,But its alot better than the stock hs and fan.
Im really shooting for a Ghz!!!With the water cooling,it should happen.
Hope this helps
BTW with just stock fan I was only abel to get to about 790 before the temps got too high thats with 4 case fans too!
