Ok, I got my hands on an old IBM 760EL laptop. It's a bit aged, but after some hassle I managed to get Windows 2000 installed, and it runs just fine. It doesn't have an ethernet port built in, so I bought a 32-bit PCMCIA 10/100 card for it. Here's the problem, when I put it in this comes up:
"The device 'Texas Instruments PCI-1130 CardBus Controller' has detected a CardBus card in its slot, but the firmware of this system is not configured to allow the CardBus controller to be run in CardBus mode. The operating system will currently accept only 16-bit (R2) pc-cards on this controller."
Does this mean I'm going to have to buy a 16-bit card for it? Or is there some way around this? Thanks very much for any help. :)
