Sure, provided you can select a different bus speed, if you can get into the bios, it might have a bus speed setting somewhere.
A lot of us aren't familiar with brand name models, but if you state your configuration, like what chip you have, & what speed, what speed the board runs with your chip, mem, video, sound, hdd, add on cards, like a nic....all these things are usualy more important than what the model is, and if you have a detailed manual, look for bus settings and stuff like that...it might answer your question right there in B&W.
Good Luck

Sorry I don't know much about this I tried going into the bios but all you get is on and off options. The chipset is 82440LX, 333 mhz., 12 gig hd.,ati rage pro.,128 megs of ram.It is a compaq bios.,soundblaster.Ihave no documents on the motherboard
Some of the LX chipset boards had fsb settings of 66, 75, and 83. Trouble is, Compaq is known for using weird, cheap a$$ motherboard configurations that are "overclocking unfriendly". If you could find motherboard fsb jumpers, I know that 333 chip will do at least 375 (5X75). Trouble is, there may not be any settings except the default 66 MHz for that board. My Dad had one of those Compaqs and boy was it goofy.
Since you don't have any options for fsb in the bios, most prefab boxes don't I think your best bet is to download soft fsb. It is a program by the famous h-oda that lets you change your fsb from within windows. I have a friend with a gateway system that got his gateway 333 to 400 mhz using this program. There is quite possibly a setting for your compaq motherboard otherwise you will have to identify the pll-ic chip on your motherboard and hope that it is on the list. Good Luck!
oh I almost forgot, try the easiest step and see if there are jumpers or dip switches on your motherboard that you can use to adjust the fsb. That really should be the second step after you have tried the bios. Then go to soft fsb I think it can be found in the utilities section of this site.
