I know the spec for it is 80 max , but am i doing alot oh damage running at high temps ( got me new fan ordered going copper :)

My guess is that you should be ok, you are still quite a far margin from the max temperature. And even if you were doing any damage at all, it wouldnt be noticable for quite some time, and if you are ordering a new fan, I wouldnt worry about it anyway.

im new to this whole thing but temperture seemes to be of interest to how much overclocking you want to do. bigger gains being more stabile at the lower water cooled temps. so if your is stabile id run it. as far as damage, i got into this figuring my cpu would be dead a year or two down the road, but by then i could replace it for $10 the way the prices are going. its a damn load of fun, huh?

You're probably not causing any damage, but you may find it gets a little flaky on some applications when it's running that warm If my PIII-700@1GHz got to 54c I wouldn't be able to run MS Word and a couple other MS applications. At 50c they would probably be ok. Mine just starts getting picky when it's hot. You definitely NEED a new heatsink and I'm sure you'll be glad when it arrives. Don't forget a very thin layer of thermal grease!
