i have the status display for my network connection on the taskbar. how do i get it to display bytes, instead of packets in the activity part? i want to see how much information has been transferred. thanks.

I don't think Mr Gates will release his code to GPU usage so you can re-compile to display bytes vs. packets. So this may help you translate that info you see in lan status, get your calculater out,,,,,,,,,

i know it can be done, because my computer used to show bytes, and now it doesnt. so i figured there was something i changed somewhere, and i just didnt know it.

To the best of my knowledge, the driver program for the network card determines which one it reports...I don't think you can change it. :)
