I have just bought a new P3 700E cB0 (retail). I seem to be hitting a wall @ 902MHz (129MHz FSB 1.75V). I can run it @ 933MHz (133MHz FSB1.75V) and EVERYTHING runs rock solid stable, EXCEPT that Unreal Tournament refuses to load. (different error every time)

I'm using an old Abit BX-6 r2 mobo with the second revision of the SlotKET!!!. My RAM is 128MB Crucial PC133 CAS2. Using PCI High-Point ATA-66 controller. Western Digital 30.7GB ATA-66 HD. Voodoo3 2000 PCI. Sound Blaster Live! Value. 3Com 3C905-TX 10/100 PCI nic. An old ISA USR 33.6K.

Has anyone else had problems with the new revision of the SlotKET!!!? I believe that it could be the problem.

I really don't think that the CPU is the problem because I can POST at 1035MHz (148MHz FSB 1.85V). However at that speed, it will start booting into windows, and then it says the registry is corrupted and it restores a "working backup" and then it will reboot do the same thing, and again, and again. It gets stuck in a loop. It never locks up though. If I try it @ 1002MHz (143MHz FSB 1.85V) it will get into windows sometimes, but it usually gets stuck in "the loop."

Does anybody have some suggestions? Can my HPT366 HD controller be a problem? Could it be that my mobo is too old? (I've loaded the latest Flash BIOS) Is it the Voodoo3? (I've heard that they have problems @ 133FSB and beyond.) Maybe it's my 3Com nic??

Please help.... Thanx. :-)

The easiest way to find out is to remove the unnecessary components during your tests. If it still does it, then they're not the problem. SB Lives are notorious for causing problems in some systems- especially in W2K.

I have a machine with a BF6 and late rev abit slotket, and it's running 1020MHz and has been for months without a hitch. The BF6 is the same as yours without the HPT controller.
