Looks great to me. I'm not a big gamer but I have a hard time remebering which keys do what when I play and this would sure help.

And $30 isn't bad either. Just like buying two keyboard in one.

I would go for it.

The first one looks like it will be the easiest to use out of the two although the second one does look pretty good, I think it will take a bit of gettign used to the keys look pretty small and maybe a little too spaced apart, other than that it looks like once you get used to it, then it will be pretty good.

http://www.ideazon.com/newWebSite/images/products/closeups/games/crossfireCloseups.jpg looking at that it seems like the keys are just right, i was just making sure someone didn't have this and know it was crap or something, but hey for $30 dolars of my parent's money i doubt i can go wrong

Not too shabby and well worth the ca$h, but I'm happy with my short-term memory so I'l stick with my current kb.
go for it

I'm thinking of getting this as a gift for my brother. Newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=63&manufactory=1901&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1) has the bases for $10 shipped, although they don't have the generic 1st person shoot key's. However Xtreme Gear (http://www.buyxtremegear.com/idcf.html) has them (EDIT: With the Crossfire, the generic 1st person shooter keyboard) for $10 and shipping was $7.50 for me. I might look at some of their 1cent sale items to throw in if the extra shipping isn't too much. They seem to be ok from what Resellerratings.com says. (http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2753.html)

I did a Google search and there are plenty of review that are positive for the board.

I'm going to look around some more and see if I can better Xtreme Gear's price, but I really doubt I'll be able to.

I'm actually thinking that (*GASP*) Compusa might have a decent deal. Neither of the places above sell the basic keyboard insert. You need that or you might be crawling under the desk to replace the keyboards quite often. Compusa has the Zboard Crossfire for $30 and you can get the basic keyboard for free after Mail in Rebate.

Shrug. The zBoard looks to flimsy and uncomfortable to be a good keyboard, and has all the problems of a keyboard as a gaming controller. It's a good idea, though. I like the customizability factor, but you've got to pay more to get whatever layout it is you're looking for (and paying more is bad).

I'm partial to my Nostromo n50 (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Product_Id=107727), meself. It's much more comfortable in the long term than the keyboard, it's completely customizable, it has a little mini-keyboard that's used for most stuff, a fully mappable d-pad that's used for the rest, and a scroll wheel that's pretty much useless. And as far as the memory bit goes, what I've done is created a basic profile that has all my controls mapped, and then just use the same loadout for every game, so nothing really changes. If you're looking at the zBoard just for its value as a controller, you may want to check it or its brother, the brand spankin' new Nostromo n52 (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Product_Id=157024) (which has more of everything), out.

Hmmm, good alternative product recommendation Mysphyt. Does this replace the keyboard and/or mouse?

The price difference between the n50 and n52 is $10. Is the n52 worth the extra $$?

I went to Compusa and they have the keyboard thingie on display. It's not bad at all.

However, I did order the Nostromo n52 for my brother. I got it second day shipped for about $36.26 from Buy.com. With normal shipping it's $32.27. I'm hoping that it will work with a keyboard and mouse, that way he can type chat messages like he is used to doing when he plays Star Wars Galaxies.

The Crossfire insert has the keys, but it might take a little learning to be able to type all that well.
