im kinda new to this stepping thing, and im wondering how good, or bad my cpu would do... stepping D1 according to CPUz

im already rather disappointed it aint a M0 since they all like M0 here afaik :P

It should be able to do 3.2 - 3.3GHz.

I do...
Does about 280 with stock voltage.
I saw a post the other day from someone who was
doing 300 stable with a D1, and that was in a Shuttle so no exteme cooling or anything like that.

So don't dispair until you've tried it

Good luck!

The last 2.4C D1 stepping I played with got up to 3.4 gig.

:o thats not bad! AT ALL

yay :D

would i need some better cooling besides the sock HSF to get up to 250 fsb? its now running 35/38°C idle @ stock...

You should not have any problem getting to 250 with stock cooling. But you might need better cooling to do run the system
at 100% 24/7 at that speed.

Try running prime or something for a few hours whilst keeping an eye on temperatures.

Good luck!

i got one, was expecting a m0 but no luck :(

but I'm really happy with mine, does 270mhz fsb with default voltage in my shuttle barebone. (~3.25 ghz)

will try to go higher, but don't want to raise vcore as heat is the great enemy in this little shuttle xpc :D

I generally tell people that 3.0 to 3.2 gig with stock cooling is ok as long as the vcore is not increase much. The important thing is to watch the temps.

I have a 2.4c D1 that with stock voltage does 3.0 GHz and with a small increase in voltage goes up to 3.1GHz. The D1 version is a good overclocker, although no as good as the new M0.

I have a D1, and it eats a lot more voltage than your guys o.O Depends on the chip I guess, but it takes 1.575 (.05 volt boost) to get to 3.2 ghz, but its completely stable for 24/7. My guess is my ram is holding me back (Dont want to run 3:2, and my vdimm is limited to 2.8). Who knows though.

my D1 2.4C 6L6WF is stable at 3.5ghz at stock voltage (1.525).
my memory is holding me back from 300mhz FSB (my goal). going to up
the Ωage on my vmem volt mod to get it to 3.6ghz.

i've read that PIVs that default to 1.55 vcore aren't good overclockers.

Well I had a 2.4B that had a default of 1.55 vcore yet it still got 3.15ghz on 1.575 volts. Would go higher but there was some divider issues with the board I think. Had plenty of headroom left in that chip.

I can get my cpu to run up to 3.48 before I get probs... I had probs with ram (shipped them back for replacements) but with new ones I may get more ghz...

ok, so this means ill be able to get a pretty damn decent OC out of this chip :D whoohoo!!!!!!

you can try 3:2 to see how much headroom you got left on the CPu, then if its much you could consider an upgrade... atleast youll know what the CPU can do...

little update from me :)

running happily along at 275mhz fsb ~3.3ghz with 1.55v in bios :D
