Retspan asked on the 4th.
Mako asked on the 7th.
I will ask on the 8th ...

Will someone please provide an answer for us?

you have to know this to enter cpu database so how come no one knows are they just making up a number? :(

I have been looking for the info but can't figure out where I put it. The prod code on the box has the info, but I can't remember the order. One of mine is BX80526F700256ESL45Y

I think the 8 is the plant that made it, and I can't remember the rest. My guess is that it would be week 26- my vague memory says the last 2 digits are week, but I'm not positive

BX80526F700256E = basic Intel part number of a 700e (100MHz FSB) PIII

SL45Y = "S" code

No Mfr Week info imbedded in this, unfortunately ...

you might want to look over at toms hardware site, I seem to remember there was something on there about identifying you cpu.

98140233-0011 MALAY - FPO# and country of assembly
9 - Plant code
0 - San Jose, Costa Rica (A6/T6)
1 - Cavite, Philippines
6 - Chandler, Arizona (A4)
8 - Leixlip, Ireland
9 - Penang, Malaysia (A1)
A - ???
Q - Malaysia
R - Manila, Philippines
Y - Leixlip, Ireland
8 - Year of manufacture (1998)
14 - Week of manufacture (14th week)
0233 - remainder of FPO# (test lot traceability number)
0011 - Serialization code
MALAY - Country of Assembly
