well now,i need learnt a wee lesson in celery(SL2TR) 266@448 problems.
that is 4x112fsb , abit bh6, boots up okay,it is even usable for an hour or two(sometimes). indicated temperature in the bios never varies much +/- 3 C from 29 C box standard fan and h/s.
The problem is ultimately it will hang on me, so notwithstanding the indicated temp. is my problem caused by lack of additional cooling?
core voltage (as you might expect )is as high as it will go 2.3V.It runs sweet as a nut at 400 mhz!

Would appreciate any wisdom on the subject.

p.s. if the big man's listening-spot on site folks.

I'd think if you were running that long and then hang it wouldn't hurt to put a Hs/Dual fan on. You get no error messages, just hang? Also there's a bios trick to up your voltage selection but I don't recall how. Maybe someone else can shed some light on that.

Yeh,I think you're right m8,i was getting progressively further into the boot up with each increase in voltage then i ran out of steam,no error message just hang :-(
if anyone knows how to squeeze some more juice out of the core voltage i would love to know :* ;)

and i think i will add another fan or two.
and how do include a signature with a post???
cheers

You might be able to find a "global win" with dual fans on it...but you might have to look long and hard. They haven't made slot one celly's for a while, and supply & demand sez that u will have to search for one..but it'll ge worth the effort.
I would also recomend "Arctic Silver" thermal compound.
BTW, I wouldn't go much past 2.2v core on that chip.
P.S. is that a "Mendocino" core?

been at 2.3v all along ;D but it is the deschutes core and I think it will stabilise at 448mhz if I could just get a bit more voltage or if it doesn't then I just fry its arse, stick it in the toaster and watch it pop out :D

No point oc'ing if your gonna cry when it doesn't work :'(
Thanks for the cooling info m8 :)
