Hi all


Thanks for all your previous help


right the problem is i had a p3 700 flip chip 100 mhz running at 933 but i couldnt get to 1050 lol so any way my friend bought a brand new p3 700 exactly the same model cpu even same code as it was from the same shop so anyway i tryed his brand new p3 in my motherboard to see if it would oc anymore than mine but it dosnt even clock to the same as mine 933 i can only get it as high as 805 mhz is this becasue its new and needs to be burned in ???


any ideas ???

Alas, no CPU is guaranteed to OC. If it's from the same fab, batch, and even day of manufacture as some that are OCer's dreamboats, this means...nothing. It's possible that your stubborn CPU might be happy in a different rig. Perhaps all variables haven't been considered. Good luck.

That's right, in a given wafer, you could have a yield of PIII's where one will do 1.13g right out of the oven, and others have to be rated at a lower speed, on the other hand if intel has a good yield, they might all be able to do a gig, and they still have their quotas of mid range chips to put out, so they clock them at 600 or whatever the market demands...and so it is still the luck o' the draw, even with very good yields...which is why certain weeks are more sought after...people hearing that a certain S-code/ week had a good yield, will go after those over another that might be under their nose, though not all clockers are this extreme.

Thanks for your help yeah it just wont go any higher i was hoping it needed to be burned in

one last thing i have a alfa fan but my system still runs qround 46 c after full load and i have to case fans running iside is this normal temp for a alfa fan ??
