i have an asus 440bx p2b motherboard with bios 1012.
just picked up a celeron2 600 with an asus s370dl smart slot 1.
Now i took out my old 350 with ease,
tried to put the slotket in but very tight fit after alot of force i managed to get it in. I turn on my comp and nothing.
I cant get it to work. Went over to my cousins computer put the slotket with the celeron 2 in went in alot easier and guess what it worked. So whats the problem here i thought my motherboard supports this.

I've seen a couple of motherboards that had the divider in the socket that was a little too fat for the slot in the slotket to fit over comfortably. I filed the notch a little bit and they worked.

Don't know if that's the problem on yours though.

If you don't like the fit of your slocket, try another one, I picked up my ABIT Slocket!!! for like 10$ And it works like a dream, I pretty much switched over to those for building comps for people So perhaps try a new Slocket

Happy OC'ing
