Hey guys,
I have a Flipchip PIII 700 (100mhz fsb) that was running at 933.
I'm using a QDI Advance 9 board, with no problems, until today...
I'm using a golden orb cooler, + 2 fans in my case.
Standard running temp was 27 deg C. O/C resulted in a temp rise to 32 deg c.
great I thought..... now, when I boot my pc, biso reports a temp of around 30 deg.....
get into windows and MBM 5 says the core is running at 71 deg c........
**yikes**
but to touch, the heatsink is cold...
am I gonna screw my chip if I continue running my system like this ?????
or are the temp readings from mbm 5 wrong ???
my system ambient temp is 23...
if I reset my pc, and look in bios again, the temp is nearer to 30 - 35.....
I doubt the heat would dissipate in the time it takes to reset a system.......
So i'm confused... any help you could offer would be great...
