hi all i have an asus 440bx p2b mobo with bios 1012. I bought a celeron 2 with an asus slotket . I took out my 350 and put in the cele and nothing its dead. Any ideas with whats wrong.

A look at the supported processors for that bios on the Asus site showed the ca0 coppermines as being the last microcodes added.

I wouldn't expect a stepping difference to be enough to keep it from running.

Do you have the slotket set for coppermine, FSB to auto, and have 66FSB selected in the bios? If you removed a PII-350 it was likely 100FSB which may be too much for the celeron to boot.

yeah i set the jumpers on the board to
66 fsb. Still nothing. when i updated my bios it said to go into the bios reset it and restart , i dont know what they mean by reset it but anyway after when i rebooted it, it said 1012 so i guess thats not the prob any other suggestions
