Probally never seen me because I am a new folder on my own personal system. Anyways, I tryed to convience my school district to let the folding screen saver be installed on every system in the district (that would be around 4000+ computers running from 600mhz to 2.4ghz some of the day, and all night and most weekends) BUT after review with their 'guys' who think they know everything on earth, they came to the conclusion that it would damage all of the processors on the computers. I thought they were talking about overheating, but they were like, "No, running a CPU a lot will damage it"

Sorry for my district being stupid :-( I will still fold on my home PC as much as I can. There has been a problem with uploading results latelly, I have lost like 3WU's (or whatever they are called)

Kinda ironic how the people running our "learning institutions" are so misinformed isn't it?

wow, I feel blessed for you to have seen and write about this post.. ;)

Anyways, if anything comes up I will let you guys know, or if you see the WU's rackin up fast under my name, you know I got it passed. Also, this evening (right before I left) they told me that it would create a big security risk as well. They think that their firewall over the whole netowork is like a god to them, when it has SOO many open ports, it's not funny. What do they do when a problem happens? Oh, just put that cluster of computers in the DMZ, they will be fine... :p

Man if I were you, I'd pull up some info -- proof -- that running a cpu 24/7 is not harmful, and show it to them.

They sound like boneheads though so it's probably hopeless. What a shame :(
