Hi guys. Most of you will just yell at me for this question because it concerns pretested CPU's. I found 2 different retailers. One is selling a cB0 PIII700 tested at 1ghz, the other is selling cC0 PIII700 tested at 1ghz. The cB0 is significant;y cheaper. Is there a profound reason to go with a cC0 over a cB0?
sorry, I should have given more info:
www.overclockwarehouse.com 700E ???@1008 $259
www.outsideloop.com 700E cC0@1000+ $235
www.pcnut.com 700? cC0@1000+ $230
www.overclockerz.com 700? cB0@1015 $185
This is the info I found this morning.
I was looking for someone carrying some PIII800 tested to 1100mhz, but couldn't find any listings. I know I saw someone selling them once before. Any help.
I have both, and the cc0 is a little more graceful about overclocking. It runs a little cooler than the cb0. The cc0's I have on my VP6 are new so I haven't pushed them to see where they run out- my cb0 tops out around 1050.

tim,
what tops out at 1050?
a PIII700 or
a PIII800
the reason I am going against everyone else on the boards is that I bought a cC0 PIII800 and even at a really really high voltage (i want say because you'll all tell me i"m nuts) is still can barely run stable at 976Mhz

PIII 700e slot1 cBo @1021 with cheap pc133 ram,And cheap home made watercooler(On a Abit Be6II with latest bios flashed
I Like the cBo,and yea there alot cheaper keep your eyes peeled in the classified section hear,, Picked this little jem up for $125
Fireman-
My cb0 PIII-700 tops out a little over 1050. At 1050 it will run about 99% of my applications just fine, but it's a little picky about MS apps like Word and Excel. At 1020 it is very stable for everything. It would probably have a problem with games also, but I don't play any.
The cc0's I have on my dual board weren't happy above 1002 when I tried, but they were brand new. They have been burning in for a couple of weeks now so I will try to push them a little harder in a few days.
Dual processor motherboards are a little tougher to get maximum speed out of. Processors that will reach a certain speed by themselves, often will not go that high on a dualie...

Milk,
My dilemma is this. I want to get an PII that will run 1ghz at or near stock voltage. I so not want to pay for the 1ghz since the pricepoint for this chip series seems to be sitting around the 700-800 now.
I am looking for a 700e, 800, or 850 that will do 1ghz. If I went with a 700e, I am thinking that it would be a good idea to grab a pretested one. I do not see any sites that are offereing pre-tested 800's right now.
I would pay the extra money for a pretest because I really do not trust the ability of even an 850 to hit 1ghz.
As I have said, my SL4MA cannot hit 976 stable at 2.22 volts even though I cannot break 40C.
Man just buy a fraking cheap cco chip . Mine does 1120 at 1.95 volts watercooled. Pretested by me when I got it home. I think a cco chip that only runs a gig would be a dud.

JR,
your cC0 at 1120, is that a 700mhz or an 800mhz. Which one should I go with?
I have a P3 700@1050mhz cCO sl4c3 stepping alpha cooler P3125 temps under load never exceed 36c at 1.75 voltage. :p
