OK, So I searched high and low to find out more about this CPU
Intel's site lists it as a manufactured CPU Deap in their datasheets but I cannot find much info on it anywhere. So I found this great deal on the internet and saw it is 100mhz bus. My eyes lit up! WHOA if i can get that sucker to run at 133 :). The story behind it is that it was manufactured for Compaq and HP and they are now selling off the surplus. So I ordered 1 and its on the way. Now I just have to ditch my good ole rock solid Asus P2B and PIII 500 Katmai and buy myslef an Asus CUSL2-C motherboard :) then pray that the cas 3 PC 133 micron ram I just bought (1X256 and 1X128) will allow me to overclock.
Does anyone know anything about this CPU? the salesman on the phone said it was 133bus but intel lists it at 100 and the mulitplier wouldn't equate out anyway so I just chalked it up to the salesman not knowing jack.

Email me for the site selling them for $229.00
Quantities are limited I think.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for 133FSB... The odds are better that you'll be struck by lightning next time you go into a basement...

I'm with Tim.. I doubt you'll even come close to 133MHz FSB with that CPU...and yes its 9 x100 if its a 900 MHz... the only EB (ie 133MHz FSB CPU) in that range is the 933...7x133..

I am guessing you'll be VERY VERY Lucky if you even get the CPU over 112 FSB...133 FSB would be 1.2 GHz...and Intel is/was (recalled) barely able to get the 1.13GHz CPU out the door...(it's been reintroduced on the latest processor map)

Sounds like a waste of money to me. You should have bought a 700 and hoped for the best.

So I think that you made a bad comparison Tim. His odds are better that he'd become an astronaut some day.

Although some say million to 1 chances happen 9 times out of 10, I would go for a cC0 or cB0 PIII700.
Then you'll hit at least 933.
More bang 4 your bucks!!

Hehehe . You should have researched a little more. Very bad choice of multipliers for Intel overclocking. Good Luck . Id cancel if you can and get a 700.

Hey Jeff- was he in a basement, though? I think that kind of boosts the odds a little.

well maybe ... Moshter will end up taking this PIII900, not buying a new mobo - and hope to gwad that his current mobo has a bios flash that supports 9x mutilpier

then - he can happily run that badboy within spec. give the man a break he's already shellin out the denero for the CPU, - if he ends up buying new mobo, ram, etc...etc.. he'll hang himself regrettin not getting a 700e

oh - Im looking @ 700 -800, -wassa best 815 mobo out there should I go SAR6 or CUSL2

cheers

this processor is at least cC0, I just purchased the Abit SA6R today along with 2 IBM 30gig ata 100 7200rpm drives for a raid 0 setup. I will let you know how my lighting strikes turn out. Even if I ONLY hit 112 FSB thats still 1 gig for 229.00 bux :) And I am sure one hell of a fast system.

Soon to come system specs:
Abit SA6R 815E Raid, PIII900/100, 384 Meg Micron PC133 ram, 2-30gig ATA 100 7200RPM IBM Deskstar drives in RAID 0 array all new.
Carry overt from current system:
Elsa Geforce 32meg DDR, SBlive value, 12/4/32 Plextor Scsi burner, 3com905C Nic, 40X Toshiba Scsi CD-rom, 330 Watt Dual Fan Enermax power supply, InWin case.

i still think a p3 700@1gig, 750@1gig, or 800@1gig is goin' to be faster than your 900@1gig due to their higher fsb speeds, besides i doubt u can get far past 1.1gig, the cc0 core is already maxed out

you're prob gonna need cryogenic cooling or some other kind of extreme method... good luck anyway =) tell us how it turns out
