The ram will work in older motherboards that do not support duel channel memory but you will not gain the added bandwidth benefits from a board that supports it.
There is nothing special about matched sticks other then they are tested to work well with each other. Its more marketing then anything else.
The one thing you will want to check is to make sure both support the same memory type such as DDR, SDR or RIMM (RDRAM) with the correct number of pins.

yea, ittl work, DC ram is just RAM tested at a certain speed, so you know theyll run DC at stock settings 
the only dumb question is the one not asked
